When to Replace Sod
No customer wakes up one morning and cannot wait to tear out the lawn he or she has painstakingly maintained. However, there are times when it is necessary to start anew. Read below to discover whether it is time for you to replace your sod, or whether your lawn just needs a jolt of tender loving care in order to rejuvenate.
- Pest infiltration can mean certain death to sod when the pests are not quickly eradicated. Mowing actually spreads the problem, mixing the diseased clippings in with healthy grass. Call a specialist immediately if you believe that your lawn is being overrun with cinch bugs or any of the many other grass pests that exist.
- Know when to stop. Just because one area of your lawn is sub-par, that does not mean that your entire plot needs to be torn out. Try replacing the diseased area with some fresh sod before you completely start anew.
- When in doubt, call the professionals at Tom’s Sod. They specialize in educating the public about proper sod care, and they will tell you whether or not it is advantageous for you to replace your sod.
