What kind of fertilizer is the best to use?
You should only fertilizer your lawn twice a year. With a time released or high organic fertilizer specifically blended for Florida Soils. In the fall we recommend a 15 5 15. In the spring a 15 4 8.
Can or should I put fertilizer down before I lay the sod?
You can do both. Typically we put fertilizer underneath in the summer and on top during the winter. But you can do both.
How often should I water?
New grass will need about 2" per week and established grass should receive 1 1/2" per week. The most important thing is not to over water. The grass will let you know if it needs watering. If it is dry water it.
What is the best time to lay sod?
The cooler months. October thru Feburary there is less stress on new grass and fungus cannot grow. The worst time is August.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Which is better sand or muck for a base?
Either or. It really makes little difference.
Can you lay sod on sand or shells?
Yes, we are able to lay sod on either.
How often should I mow the grass?
At 3 1/2" to 4" you can cut the grass. It should be cut to the highest setting on the mower. The taller the green the deeper the root. This is especially true in the summer when grass needs deep roots to get water.
